Saran Wrap Nail Art

Hi darlings!

I've wanted to do a subtle fall nail art for a long time but didn't really know how. I love to do leaves and I love orange but I wanted to do something even more simple. I decided to do an earthy, smoky saran wrap mani. I love saran wrap manis. The swirly, imperfection of them is just gorgeous.

Th polishes I've used are OPI Black Onyx, OPI You're so Vain-Illa and OPI Embrace the Gray.
I admitt that it's not super fall-y. It works all year long but something about the colours remind me of autumn. I really loved how it turned out. It looks like black smoke against the pale, rainy sky.

The photos are taken in indirect sunlight.

Femme Fatale The First Northern Witch

I LOVE polishes and collecions that are inspired by fairytales. I just love 'em. Whenever there's a collection inspired by a fairytale I can't help myself, I just want them all. Femme Fatale released a collection inspired by Narnia a while ago and they're all amazing. Today I'll show you one of them: The First Norther Witch.

The first Northern Witch has a light grey, almost taupe, crelly, glod glitter, pale old glitter and bronxe glitter, silvery shimmer and a little prismatic glitter. It's so intricate and captivating. It's neautral but so interesting. The mix of various gold glitter and the shimmer adds so much depth. It's simply beautiful.

The pictures are taken in indiret sunlight.
The First Northern Witch is more calm compared to the previous polish, but not less intricate. It's a grey base, filled with various shades of golden glitter (I'm seeing gold, silvery gold and bronze gold) and shimmer, from very fine to a bit larger, and it has some holographic microglitter as well. Another beauty that covered in 2 thicker coats. - See more at: http://www.ooohshinies.com/2015/06/femme-fatale-cosmetics-white-witch.html#sthash.me81IrDt.dpuf

The formula is good. Three thin coats give full coverage. If you do thicker coats two should be enough. It dries fast but the finish becomes a little textured so top coat is a must if you want a smooth, glossy finish.

What you see in the pictures are two coat of Femme Fatale The First Norther Witch and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Colors by Llarowe Vivian + Edward

Who doesn't like a good love story? Vivian and Edward's just happens to be one of the better. I'm no big fan of rom-coms but I do like Pretty Woman. Today I'll show you Colors by Llarowe Vivan + Edward from the spring collection Pretty Woman that is inspired by Pretty Woman (go figure).

Vivan + Edward is a bright pink holo. It's very pretty, the holo is strong and it's... well, pretty.
I had higher expectations on this, to be honest. From swatches I've seen I thought it would be brighter. Hot pink bright, not berry pink bright. It's pretty, but not spectacular. I like it but I don't love it.

The pictures are taken in direct sunligt.

The formula is really good. Two coats give full coverage. It dries quickly and the finish becomes shiny. It's a rich and poigmented colour but there was no staining.
Top coat doesn't affect the holographic effect.

Smitten Polish Seasonal Lattes

I know, I know. I've utterly and completely  sucked att blogging the last two weeks. In my defence I can only blame uni and work. I have so much to do I barely know where to start. It's the last semester of my bachelor's degree programme in social work, I also signed up on an extra course in archeology and I work two days a week at the social services office.

Anyway, we're already mid-way trough September and I haven't really shown you any Autumn-y polish yet. So that's exactly what I'll do today. This is Smitten Polish Seasonal Lattes from 2014's fall collection, which was an amazing collection.

Seasonal Lattes is a golden-ish brown with an intense holo effect. The colour is AAAHMAZING!
I mean, look at it! It's so gorgeous! The perfect brown holo. It has both golden and green undertones which makes the colour rich and cozy and absolutely beautiful. This was my favourite brown polish last autumn and one of my favourite Smittens. It's still a favourite Smitten and it's still my favourite brown for fall.

The pictures are taken in direct sunlight.

The formula is great. It covers in two thin coats. It does stain a little, nothing major but you're nails might get a greenish tint to them if you don't use two coats of a good top coat. I used Pretty Serious Rock On! It dres quickly and the finish becomes super shiny. Top coat doen't dull the holo.

What you see in the pictures are two coats of Smitten Polish Seasonal Lattes and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Glam Polish POP!

Let's hold on to summer for a few more minutes shall we? I'd like to show you Glam Polish POP! from the collection Knockout Part 2.

POP! is a peachy coral holo with prismatic silver glitter. It's absolutely fabulous.
The thing with corals thoug are that make my skin tone look a bit dirty. I love corals in the bottle but they tend to be only worn once and then they're put in the back of my Helmer and be somewhat forgotten. This is not the case with POP! I'vr actually worn it twice! And yes, it doesn't suit my skin tone very well but it's so pretty. It makes me think of the beach, sun and fruity drinks.
The glitter and holo adds lots of dimension and depth to the already pretty colour, so if you're looking for another coral; look no further.

The pictures are taken in direct suight.

The formula was great. Two coats give full coverage. The finish becomes skightly textured but top coat smooths it out.

What you see in the pictures are two coats of Glam Polish POP! and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Marimekko Inspired Nail Part 2

Remember the blue  Marimekko inspired nails I did quite a while go. Here's the red version of that mani.
I really love the Unikko pattern. It looks great in all colours and so does this nail art.

The polishes I've used are OPI Lady in Black, Butter London Cotton Buds, OPI Where Did Suzi's Man-Go?, Barry M Grapefruit and Barry M Passion Fruit. I used a dotting tool to create the flowers and topped the mani off with Pretty Serious Matte All The Things! for a matte finish.

Glam Polish Crystal Couture

Hello!

Glam Polish released a trio called Think Pink a while ago. Pink isn't my favourite colour and probably the colour I have the least of in my stash. I still had to get two of the three polished from the Think Pink Trio and this one is called Crystal Couture.

Crystal Couture has a silver holographic base with bright pink, purple, lavender and silver prismatic glitter as well as purple glass fleck and pink shimmer. The pink simmer gives it an almost duochroatic look. The pink shimmer is stronger in real life, but its very hard camera shy and doesn't really show in my pictures.
This is my favourite from the trio. It's s sparkly and shiny. It's a true glitter bomb!

The pictures are taken in direct sunlight.

The formula is good. Two coats give full coverage. Even though it's packed with glitter it's easy to even out. It can be used as a glitter topper if you do one very thin coat. The finish becomes a little textured so an extra coat of top coat was needed to make the finish completely smooth.

What you see in the pictures are two coats of Glam Polish Crystal Couture, one coat of Nail PAttern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Bear Pawlish Potent Potables

Hi darlings!

Today I'll show you a new favourite of mine; Bear Pawlish Potent Potables. Bear Pawlish has quickly become one of my favourite brands. I still haven't tried a polish from BP that has left me disappointed. This one is no exception.

Potent Portables is a lime green, almost neon, holo with green prismatic glitter. It's awesome. It's incredibly bright and vibrant. It's just amazing and so intense. The holo is very strong and the glitter adds extra sparkle. I need to get a back up of this one. That's how much I love it.

The pictures are taken in direct sun light.

The formula is impeccable. Two coats give full coverage. The finish becomes smooth and shiny even though there's some glitter. The glitter is so fine that it won't affect the finish. TC won't dull the holo effect.

What you see in the pictures are two coats of Bear Pawlish Potent Potables and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Glam Polish Take A Bow

Hi sweeties!

Today I'll show you Glam Polish Take a Bow.

Take a Bow is a muted periwinkle blue holo with purple glass flecks. It's very pretty but it didn't 'wow' me as I thought it would. I thought it would be a lot brighter but it wasn't. It's still beautiful. A perfect blue for the crisp air and cooler weather that comes now during the Autumn.

The pictures are taken in direct sunlight.

The formula, as with most Glams, is great. Two coats give full coverage. It dries quickly and the finish becomes rather shiny on its own. TC doesn't affect the holo.

What you see in the pictures are two coats of Glam Polish Take a Bow and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.
