Saran Wrap Nail Art

Hi darlings!

I've wanted to do a subtle fall nail art for a long time but didn't really know how. I love to do leaves and I love orange but I wanted to do something even more simple. I decided to do an earthy, smoky saran wrap mani. I love saran wrap manis. The swirly, imperfection of them is just gorgeous.

Th polishes I've used are OPI Black Onyx, OPI You're so Vain-Illa and OPI Embrace the Gray.
I admitt that it's not super fall-y. It works all year long but something about the colours remind me of autumn. I really loved how it turned out. It looks like black smoke against the pale, rainy sky.

The photos are taken in indirect sunlight.

Lilypad Lacquer Free Spirit

Australian What's In-Die Box? is my favourite type of indie polish box. Five surprise polishes from amazing Aussie brands and a new theme every month. I just love that. Check it out if you haven't. 

Today I'll show you Lilypad Lacquer Free Spirit from March's What's In-Die Box? and the theme for the box was Disney Princesses.

Free Spirit is a sandy beige with blue and gold flakes and a subtle holo effect. It was inspired by Pocahontas. I love Free Spirit. It's a perfect neutral to me. The blue flakes make it look almost  grey and the golden flakes give it some extra sparkle. The holo is very subtle but adds depth and a little glam.

The pictures are taken in direct sunlight.

The formula is amazing. It's creamy and smooth and easy to apply. Two coats give full coverage. The finish becomes semi matte so for a super shiny look top coat is a must.

What you see in the pictures are two coats of Lilypad Lacquer Free Spirit and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Half Moons and Studs

Born Pretty Store Nail Studs were sent to me for my honest review.

Hi! Today I have nail art to show you. I decided to use neutral colours for this mani to really let the studs be the star. 

It was super easy to do and the result is a classy, elegant and very pretty mani. 

The polishes I've used are OPI Alpine Snow and OPI You're So Vain-Illa. I used half moon nail vinyls from nail vinyls and studs from Born Pretty Store. The studs were easy to use. Just put a little top coat on you nails and use a tweezer to put them where you want them.

Skittlette

Hi guys!

I'll start my new internship tomorrow, so for obvious reasons I have to have amazing nails tomorrow. I love how this skittlette turned out. I've worn a lot of colour on my nails the past few weeks so I wanted something a little more neutral but still fun.

The polishes I've used for this manicure are OPI Lady in Black, OPI You're So Vain-illa, Cirque Sample and Mentality Black Opaque.
I painted my thumb, middle and ring finger with OPI You're So Vain-illa. I then stamped my thumb and ring finger nails with Mentality Black Opaque using the Creative Shop Stamper and a stamping plate from Konad. I added two coats of Cirque Sample, a gorgeous pae gold glitter from one of International Playground's Cirque sample sales, on my middle finger nail. I painted two coats of OPI Lady in Black on my index and pinky.

 

OPI You're So Vain-illa

Hi guys! I hope you're having a ovely weekend so far. Today I'm going to show you OPI You're so Vain-illa from the Icons of Happiness collection. 

You're so Vain-illa  is a light beige creme. I really like this colour. I'm no big fan of nudes in general but they are amazing to wear after a long period of nothing but glitter and holo. This one feels elegant and crisp. It's vey light but not chalky and definitely not a bright white. It's not a polish I'll wear often but it''s definitely one I will wear again.

The formula was good. I needed three coats for full opacity. The first two coats were quite streaky but a third  coat made the finish opaque. the polish dries to a super shiny finish.
What you see in the pictures are three coats of OPI You're so Vain-illa and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat. 

Enchanted Polish Afternoon Delight

Hello lovelies! I have a day off today so I'll swatch polish all afternoon. I have a few posts in store for you today as well. We'll start off with Enchanted Polih Afternoon Delight.

Afternoon Delight is a nude holographic polish with an interesting blue shimmer. It's beautiful and the shimmer adds depth and makes it something extra. A little more fun than your normal nude holo.

The first hour I wore this I just wanted to take it off, but since Enchanted Polish is one of my favourite brands I decided to give it a chance and wear it for 24 hours. I did, and I actually love it now. It's a good nude on me even though I didn't think that at first and I like the subtle holo. I will definitely wear this again. I can't wait to wear this in full sun light. The sky is all gray here again. I'd love some sun! The pictures are taken in artificial light.

The formula is impeccable as always when it comes to Enchanted. The application was flawless. It's a one coater, but I used to coats to give it some extra depth. It dries quickly and shiny. The holo effect is not affected by top coat.
What you see in the pictures are two coats of Enchanted Polish Afternoon Delight and one coat of Seche Vite.

OPI Glints of Glinda

 

Glad Påsk! Jag måste börja det här inlägget med att säga att jag är så glad att ni kommer in här varje dag och läser, kommenterar och ger underbar feedback. Ni är fantastiska läsare allihop!

Det är påskafton och påskvecka här på bloggen. Tyvärr har jag inte hunnit förbereda ett påskinlägg än, utan det kommer senare ikväll. Jag passar därför på att visa er OPI Glints of Glinda som är det näst sista lacket jag visar ur OPIs nya kollektion Oz The Great and Powerful. Ni ska få en kollektionssammanfattning på tisdag är det tänkt. 

Glints of Glinda är en persikofärgad, eller nude,  jelly som är läskigt lik min hudton. Det smälter liksom ihop och det är svårt att se ar huden slutar och nageln börjar. Jag kan inte bestämma mig för om det är en bra eller dålig grej. Utöver det så gillar jag Glints of Glinda. Den är fin och jag älskar ju soft shades. 

 

Formulan är bra. Lacket flyter på som smör i solsken ochd et blir inte strimmigt. Dessutom torkar det ganska fort och finishen blir superglansig. På bilderna ser ni tre tunna lager av Glints of Glinda och ett lager Seche Vite.

Mer än så har jag het inte tid att skriva för nu ska jag hjäpa till att förbereda för kvällens påsk middag.

It's Easter Eve and unfortunately I haven't had the time to prepare an Easter post yet. That will come later tonight. Instead I'll start off this morning by showing you OPI Glints of Glinda from the new collection Oz The Great And Powerful.

Glints of Glinda is a peachy, or nude, jelly that looks so much like my skin tone it's almost scary. It's hard to see where my skin ends and nails start. I can't decide if that's a good or a bad thing.

What I do know is that I like Glints of Glinda. It's pretty and I love soft shades.

The formula is great. It's very easy to apply and it's not streaky at all. it dries quickly and super shiny. What you see in the pictures are three thin coats of Glints of Glinda and one coat of Seche Vite.

Color Club Cosmic Fate

 

Idag är det Skimmerskuggans Holofredag och jag är med igen. Idag visar jag er Color Club Cosmic Fate, ett av de nya lacken i Halo Hues kollektioen.

Cosmic Fate är ett nude holo med orange ton. Jag önskar att det var lite mer orange och inte så nude. Färgen är mesig, men med regnbågarna lacket har jag förlåter jag allt som heter mesig färg. Regnbågarna är verkligen fantastiska och holoeffekten är stark.

Ja, mer än så har jag inte att säga, så nu till lite bilder.

 

Formulan är bra, den är inte rinnig men inte heller för tjock. Lacket är väldigt täckande och jag tror man kan komma undan med ett lager men jag la två ändå. Det torkar fort och ett lager Seche Vite påverkar inte holoeffekten alls.

Nail Art Sunday Tema: Streck

 

Idag är det Lelack's Nail Art Sunday och temat är "Streck". I torsdags bar ju jag OPI My Vampire Is Buff och tyckte att lacket antagligen skule passa bra till nail art. Så på torsdag kvällen innan jag skulle ta bort lacket rotade jag fram lite striping tape och gjorde streck. Jag bär inte det här nu alltså, utan det åkte bort samma kväll. Jag ville mest se hur det såg ut som grund. Vilket lack jag faktiskt bär idag får ni se senare ikväll.  

 

Så, basen till det här är alltså OPI My Vampire Is Buff. För att få så raka ränder har jag använt mig av striping tape och sedan målat ett lager med Essie Beyond Cozy. Jag tyckte det blev ganska fint. Det glänser och glittrar mycket mer i verkligheten än vad mina bilder visar. Det känns som en lite mer diskret nail art, vilket jag gillar.

Last Thursday i wore OPI My Vampire Is Buff and as you might recall I tought it would be a nice base for nail art. So during Thursday evening I used striping tape to make nice, even lines and then I painted a coat of Essie Beyond Cozy. The result is looks pretty, I like it.

OPI My Vampire Is Buff

 

Idag bär jag OPI My Vampire Is Buff från nya kollektionen Euro Centrale. Det här var det lack jag var minst sugen på att testa av de 7 lack jag fick hem igår, så jag passade på att prova det på en gång för att ha det gjort.

Jag blev faktiskt positivt överraskad. Det är mycket finare än jag trodde och jag tycker om att det inte är ett helt vitt krämlack. Det har snarare en äggskalsvit ton eller lite grädde. Dessutom är den mycket mer lättburen än ett helt vitt lack och jag tycker den passar min hudton fint.

Namnet är helt underbart, My Vampire Is Buff och passar färgen på lacket perfekt. Jag tänker definitivt på hudtonen hos klassiska vampyrer som Dracula och Nosferatu.

Det är inte ett lack jag kommer använda särskilt ofta, men den är nog fin till glittertippar eller nailart. Gillar man nudelack och vita lack kan det här vara värt att kika på.

 

Formulan var bra. Inte rinnig och inte för tjock. Tre tunna lager ger fulltäckning, men jag tror man kommer undan med två lite flödigare lager också. Torktiden är normal och det torkar väldigt glansigt. Överlack känns nästan överflödigt att använda.

Translation: Today I'm wearing OPI My Vampire Is Buff from the new collection Euro Centrale. This was the shade i was least excited to try out so decided to use it today just to be able to put it away. 

I was really positively surprised. I actually like it. It's an eggshell or cream white creme polish. I love the name, My Vampire Is Buff, it's perfect for the shade and it makes me think of classic vampires like Dracula or Nosferatu.

The formula is good. Not runny nor thick. Three thin coats are enough for full coverage, but I'll think two thicker coats could be enough aswell. The dry time is normal and it dries to a very shiny fnish. It almost feels like top coat isn't  necessary.

Color Club Halo Hues 2013

Jag vet att det inte finns så många swatches på Colour Clubs senaste holos som tillhör kollektionen Halo Hues. Hittills har jag tyckt att Cactus' swatches har varit bäst. Därför tänkte jag helt enkelt visa swatchbilder på de tre lacken jag köpte; Eternal Beauty, Beyond och Cosmic Fate.

Det blir inga recensioner av lacken nu, utan jag vill bara visa hur de ser ut på naglarna i vanligt lampljus. Recensionerna kommer ni få de kommande tre holofredagarna. Så nu på fredag får ni recensionen av Eternal Beauty, fredagen veckan därpå kommer recensionen av Beyond och fredag om två veckor får ni recensionen av Cosmic Fate.

  

Eternal Beauty är ett lila holo med jättefina regnbågar.

 

Beyond är ett mycket mörkgrått, nästan svart holo. Holoeffekten är inte fullt så stark som hos Eternal Beauty eller Cosmic Fate men fortfarande tydlig!

 

Cosmic Fate är ett nudefärgat hololack som drar lite åt orange. Regnbågarna är jättevackra!
