Glam Polish The Sweets Duo Part 2: Lemon Meringue

Hi guys!
I have a bad cold so I'm home from work today. That gave me time to write a few blog post for the upcoming week.

Today I'll show you Glam Polish Lemon Meringue from the MeiMei's Signatures exclusive The Sweets Duo Part 2.

Lemon Meringue is a lemon yellow neon with yellow, silver and green glass flecks.  It's almost highlighter yellow. It's so fun and pretty. Perfect for summer! It has green undertones which makes it even more neon. This isn't perfect for my skin tone but it works.

The pictures are taken in indirect sunlight. Neons are incredibly hard to photograph and that goes for this one as well. It's brighter in real life and a the shimmer is more prominent.

The formula is alright. It's probably as good as it gets when it comes to yellow and neon. I needed three coats for full coverage. It was quite patchy at the second coat but the third coat evened it out. I recommend that you wait at least three minutes between the coats. That makes the finish less patchy.
It dries rather quickly and the finish becomes quite shiny.

What you see in the pictures are three coats of Glam Polish Lemon Meringue and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Glam Polish Dark Terror Duo

Hi guys! I've already showed you Glam Polish Grusome Movie Duo and today I'm going to show you the other Halloween duo called Dark Terror Duo. This duo is sold exclusively at Mei Mei's Signatures and only 140 numbered sets are made. So grab it while you can!

Black Water is a blackened blue holographic polish with indigo and purple glass flecks. It's gorgeous. I love myself a blackened blue. Any blackened colour actually. The holo effect just makes it better. I love the blackened edges on the nail. They give that glowing-from-within-effect to the polish.
The formula is flawless. This is a one coater but I used two coats for the swatches. I always paint two coats even when the polish only needs one. I think it adds more depth to the finish. The polish dries quickly and the finish becomes very shiny.

The other part of the duo is Don't Go In the Woods is a blackened forest green holographic polish with blue and green glass flecks. The glass flecks make this polish lean toward teal. It's a stunning shade with lots of sparkle and depth.
The formula was flawless. This polish is, just like Black Water, highly pigmented so one coat gives full coverage but I used two. It dries quickly and the finish becomes shiny.

I love both of these and I really can't pick a favourite. They're right up my alley! I can't believe this duo isn't sold out yet. Which one is your favourite?

OPI First Class Desires

Hi guys!
It's November and the Holiday season is soon upon us. So let's kick today off with OPI First class Desires from OPI Gwen Stefani Holiday 2014 collection.

First Class Desires is a dark plum polish with lots and lots of golden glass flecks. It looks more maroon on the nail than purple but who care? It's gorgeous and sparkly and amazing. Definitely my favourite from the collection. The purple base is opaque enough to give coverage but it doesn't drown the glass flecks. The glass flecks peek through the base and give the polish a beautiful glow. It's perfect for the Holiday season and winter or whenever you want to feel classy and vampy. I can't help but swoon over this shade.

The formula is flawless. Two easy applied coats gave full coverage. It dries fast and the finish becomes shiny. A little top coat helps to bring out those amazng glass flecks a bit more.
What you see in the pictures are two coats of OPI First Class Desires and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Glam Polish Gruesome Movie Duo

Happy Halloween!

Today I have the Glam Polish Gruesome Movie Duo to show you. It's perfect to show you today since it's both Halloween and Holo Firday. This duo was sold exlusively at Mei Mei's Signatures. It was only sold in 60 numbered sets and the duo even made the site crash. I wasn't lucky enough to score this duo when it was sold at Mei Mei's but the lovely bookpolish sold her set to me. The duo consists of Tales from the Darkside and Carrie. Let's start off with Tales from the Darkside.

Tales from the Darkside is a purple holographic polish with purple and fuchsia glass flecks. It's stunning! it's dark enough to fit Halloween but bright enough to be worn anytime. The glass flecks give it a beautiful glow and add lots and lots of depth. They are, of course, most prominent in the shadow.
The fomrula is flawless. It's super smooth and easy to apply. Two coats gave full coverage but you can get away with just one. The finish become shiny and smooth.

Carrie is a blood red holographic polish with crimson and golden glass flecks. It's absolutely gorgeous! This is my favourite of the two. The glass flecks give the polish an amazing glow. It's so vibrant and very vampy. This polish is perfection. This is actually my Halloween mani. I just can't resist a good red. I also happen to love Stephen King's novel Carrie.
The formula on this was, just as with Tales from the Darkside, is flawless. Two coats gave full coverage. I think you could get away with one thicker coat but usually two thin coats give more depth. This polish is top coat hungry though, so two coats is a must.

This set is no longer available but if you're lucky, like I was you, a lovely person might sell it to you. Both of these polishes are gorgeous and they have a precious place in my Helmer. Carrie is my favourite of the two but Tales from the Darkside is one of the prettiest purples I've ever seen. Which one is your favourite or do you love them both equally? If you feel the need to get your hands on another Glam Polish Halloween duo Mei Mei's Signatures still has another duo for sale called Dark Terror. I will post my review of that duo on Sunday.

Isadora Mother of Pearl

Translation: I'm wearing another Isadora polish today. This is Isadora Mother of Pearl from their new collection Opalescent Nails, that contains five iridescent polishes. When I saw that the local Lindex in the beginning of last week I had to buy Mother of Pearl, it was the only polish from the collection that I really wanted. It's also the polish that I think will be the most hyped, so I bought it before it was sold out, especially since it's so pretty. Better safe than sorry.
It's a clear polish ith flecks that changes colour between blue and purple, but for most of the time it just looks purple. it can be used on its own to freshen up  your own nails or it can be layered over another polish. I prefer the latter. I will probably never use it on its own.
The formula is good, maybe a little thick, but not difficult to work with. I've layered one coat of Mother of Pearl over two coats of China Glaze Liquid Leather. Isn't it gorgeous?

Make Up Store Muchion

Translation: Today I'm wearing Make Up Store Muchion. It's a dark pink jelly with oink glass flecks. I'm not a big fan of pinks but this is gorgeous!
The formula is good, a little thin but not hard to control at all. Three coats give full coverage and since it's a jelly the dry time is a little longer than normal. A coat of a fast drying top coat, Seche Vite in my case, speeds up the dry time a lot.

Gina Tricot Alexis

Translation: This is Gina Tricot Alexis. It's a pink polish with glass flecks. I love polishes with glass flecks, I thik it might be one of my favorite polish finishes.i'm not a big fan of pink polishes, but this I love. It's so gorgeous. What's really sad though is that I recently heard tha some of the ingredientes in Gina Tricot's polishes are animal tested. Not the polish it self but the ingredientes. So I won't buy another polish from there since I don't want / avoid to buy animal tested products or products that may have been animal tested. Of course you guys do as you want to.
The formula is good. It's a one coater, but as always I paint two coats. One coat of top coat really brings out the glass flecks.
