Mentality Excite

Hi guys!
Today I'll show you another one of Mentality's Neon Holo Jellies. This is Excite.

Excite is a hot pink, purple leaning, neon with a subtle holo effect. The colour is lovely and perfect for summer. It's so vibrant. The holo is, as with all the polishes in this collection, very subtle and doesn't create rainbows. It adds depth and sparkle and just makes the polish prettier.

The pictures are taken in direct sunlight.

The formula is good. Better than with the other polishes for this collection that I've shown you so far. This one covers in two coats and isn't nearly as patchy as the others. The first coat's a little sheer but the second give coat gives full coverage. It dries quickly and the finish becomes semi-matte so top coat is needed to make the finish shiny.

What you see in the pictures are two coats of Mentality Excite and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Mentality Electrify

It's Blue Monday and I'll show you Mentality Electrify. I know I show a lot of polishes from Mentality right n ow, but last week I finally recieved the Neon Jelly Holo Collection after my parcel had gone missing and I just can't wait to show them to you.

Electrify is a neon sky blue with a subtle holo effect. It's gorgeous! It's bright and vibrant and so pretty. As with the other colours in thi collection the holo doesn't create rainbows. It adds depth and sparkle to do the polish instead. I really like the subtle holo. It doesn't always have to be that kind of in-your-face type of holo to be pretty.

The pictures are take in direct sunlight.

The formula is good. Three coats give full coverage. The first coat's streaky and patchy but the second and third coat even it out. Let each coat dry for a minute or to before continuing with the next, that way you'll avoid some of the streakiness. The finish becomes semi-matte so top coat is must.

What you see in the pictures are three coats of Mentality Electrify and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Mentality Drama

Hello darlings!

Today I'll show you Mentality Drama.

Drama is a red toned coral neon with a subtle holographic effect. It's reall pretty and the colour is perfect for summer. I love to wear corals during the summer. I'm extremely pale but in the summer I do get a slight tan. Corals look great then and make my skin look even more tan.
The holo is very subtle. It adds shimmer, sparkle and depth but doesn't create rainbows. It just makes the polish prettier.

The pictures are taken in direct sunlight.

The formula is good. Three coats give full coverage. The first coat is rather patchy ad streaky but the second and third coat even it out. It dries quickly and to a semi matte finish. Top coat makes the finish shiny.

Mentality Shake

Hi sweeties!

Today I'll show you Mentality Shake

Shake is neon tangerine orange with a subtle holo effect. The colour is gorgeous. It didn't look great in the bottle but is so pretty on the nails. Never judge a polish by its bottle.
The holo is very subtle. It doesn't create rainbows but it gives a nice shimmer and adds depth to the finish.

The pictures are taken in direct sunlight.

The formula was alright. It's quite streaky. I needed three coats for full coverage. Their rat two coats were very patchy but the third, thicker coat, evened it out. I recommend thaty pu wait a few minutes between the coats, that'll avoid it to becomes too patchy.
It dries quickly and the finish becomes semi-matte. Top coat is must if you want it really shiny.
What you see in the pictures are three coats of Mentality Shake and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Saran Wrap Nails

I did some nail art today and I'm super happy with the result! I did saran wrap nails since I wanted to do something easy but still exsiting. I've completely forgotten about how incredibly beautiful saran wrap nails can be!

The polishes I've used are China Glaze Highlight of My Summer, China Glaze Boho Blues, Glam Polish Anuenue and Mentality Black Opaque. I used Highlight of My Summer as the base and then used Boho Blues and the saran wrap technique to do the pattern. I finished the mani off with Glam Polish Anuenue, because Anuenue makes every mani better!
I couldn't let the mani be and had to stamp it. I used a pattern from MoYou London Sailor Collection Plate 05. The end result with the stamping is a little mermaid-esque and I love it!

The pictures are taken in indirect sunlight. The picture of the stamped mani is taken in direct sunlight. Blogger is making my pictures blurry when I upload them. It's getting really frustrating. I'm thinking about changing to another blog platform but I haven't decided yet.

Mentality Lollipop

Hello darlings!

Today I'll show you Mentality Lollipop. This was actually my first polish from Mentality.

Lollipop is a grey leaning purple with blue undertones. It looks like a stormy sky with rays of sunshine peking through the clouds. It's absolutely beautiful! The holo effect is very pretty. It adds so much depth to this polish and makes the colour even more complex. Lollipop is also great for stamping since it's so opaque.

The formula is great! One coat gives full coverage but two coats give the polish more depth. It dries quickly to a semi matte finish. Top coat is needed to make the finish shiny and it brings out the holo a tad more.

What you see in the pictures are two coats of Mentality Lollipop and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Red & White

 Hi guys!
This is what my nails look like right now. I got home early today to write on a report and when I had to take a break I decided to practise my stamping skills.

For this mani I used OPI Coca Cola Red and Mentality White Opaque.
I used two coats of OPI Coca Cola Red. I then stamped it with Mentality White Opaque using the Creative Shop Stamper. The pattern I've used is from the  Sailor Collection Plate 06 from MoYou London.

Coca Cola Red is the perfect pinup red. It's classy and sexy and gorgeous. You'll get a separate review of it soon. White Opaque is my favourite white stamping polish. It's amazing! If you haven't tred it you really should.

I still need to practise my stamping. This came out a little bit wonky, but I'm very pleased. I'm getting better and better.

Stamping and Half Moons

Hi guys! I hope you all are haveing a lovely weekend. I've been home relaxing all day. I also did some nail art today that I'd like to show you.

For this mani I used OPI Lady in Black, Smitten Polish Seahorse Rodeo and Picture Polish Chillax. I used nail vinyls to create the half moon on my index and pinky. I used Mentality Black Opaque for stamping the pattern. The pattern is from MoYou London Sailor Collection Plate 05. I as usually used the Creative Shop Stamper to stamp with. I bought mine from Rainbow Connection, but you can buy it from other places as well.

About Mentality Black Opaque, it's the best black stamping polish I've used. It's super pigmented and dries quickly but not so fast that you have to stress when using it for stamping. I don't think I'm going to use another black for stamping ever again.

I really love how this turned out. I love the pattern, though it looks a little wonky since I haven't completely mastered the art of stamping yet. Well, practise makes perfect and I'm pleased for now. Chillax is a gorgeous, almost neon, teal. It's one of my favourites from Picture Polish. The pictures aren't completely colour accurate though. My camera doesn't like teal and likes to make them look more blue than green. Chillax is a green leaning teal and not a blue leaning one. I'll post a review of Chillax soon and I'll try to make the pictures more colour accurate.

White on White

Hi sweeties!

I'm completely in love with more subtle nail art at moment. It's pretty and classy but has a little something extra. Yesterday I decided to tamp with a white stamping polish on a white jelly. It turned out super pretty. I love the result. I definitely have to do it again.

The polishes I've used are Colors by Llarowe Coconut and Mentality White Opaque.
Coconut is a gorgeous white jelly. It's brightens your nails and is so squishy. A perfect white jelly. It required three thin coats to give enough coverage. It was a bit streaky at two coats but the thrid coat did the trick. I then stamped the base with Mentality White Opaque using the Creative Shop Stamper. The pattern I've used is from the  Sailor Collection Plate 06 from MoYou London.
