OPI Cement the Deal

Hello!
Today I'll show you OPI Cement the Deal from the Fifty Shades of Grey Collection. I promised myself that I wouldn't buy any Fifty Shades polishes because I don't support the books at all. We don't have to go into the reasons why, but I've read the first book and well... I don't have anything good to say about it. Not  about the writing, the story or the message.

Cement the Deal is a cool toned grey crelly with a hint of blue. It's the perfect grey colour for me. That's why I bought it. I've been on the hunt for the perfect grey and now I finally found it. So I had to by it when I saw it. I guess something good came out of Fifty Shades.
I, contrary to many others, don't think grey is a boring colour. I actually think it's very classy. I'll probably wear this a lot in the autumn or as undies for various glitter toppers.

The pictures are taken in indirect sunlight.

The goal is great. Two coats gave full coverage. The finish becomes very shiny.

What you see in the pictures are two coats of OPI Cement the Deal and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Pastel Nail Art

Hi guys!

Today I'll show you a quick nail art I did using striping tape. I love striping tape, it's so easy to use.
I wanted to do nail art with a few spring colours so I used bright pastel cremes and a little glitter for an extra element. The polishes I've used are Barry M Prickly Pear, Isadora Baby Blue, Isadora Rosette and Glam Polish Bibbidi  Bobbidi Boo. For the white base I used OPI Alpine Snow.

I'm really pleased with how this turned out. I love the look of it. The glitter goes so well with the other colours.

OPI You're So Vain-illa

Hi guys! I hope you're having a ovely weekend so far. Today I'm going to show you OPI You're so Vain-illa from the Icons of Happiness collection.

You're so Vain-illa  is a light beige creme. I really like this colour. I'm no big fan of nudes in general but they are amazing to wear after a long period of nothing but glitter and holo. This one feels elegant and crisp. It's vey light but not chalky and definitely not a bright white. It's not a polish I'll wear often but it''s definitely one I will wear again.

The formula was good. I needed three coats for full opacity. The first two coats were quite streaky but a third  coat made the finish opaque. the polish dries to a super shiny finish.
What you see in the pictures are three coats of OPI You're so Vain-illa and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

OPI Rose of Light

Hi lovelies! I've been busy the past days which resulted in no blogging. But now I'm back and I have a gradient to show you. I've used OPI You're so Vain-illa and OPI Rose of  Light.

Rose of Light is a pale rose gold glitter with microglitters, hex gitters and iridescent square glitter. It seems to be a mix of iridescent rosegold glitter, pale gold glitter and maybe even some silver glitter. It's quite hard to tell actually. This is glitter is quite a cameleon. It looks like a pale rose gold in the bottle but it can look both silver-y and golden on the nail. It's gorgeous. It's definitely a layering polish. I don't think it can be opaque on its own unless you'd do five or six coats maybe. So this is a great polish for gradients even though the glitter pay-off is a bit sparse.
I'm a sucker for beige or off white creme polishes with a golden glitter gradient. I think it looks so classy and clean.

The formula is alright. The glitter pay-off is sparse so it's not the ultimate gradient glitter polish but it works. The clear base is very thick, but not at all hard to apply. The problem is that if you want more glitter you're going to get a lot more of that suspension base. It's a bit tricky to apply it like a gradient. I think it' fine if you layer the polish over another one. It dries quickly and not too rough so one coat of a good top coat is all you need to get the finish smooth.
What you see in the pictures are two coats of OPI You're So Vain-illa, one coat of OPI Rose of Light and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Nail Art Sunday: Summer

I can't even remember the last time I joined in on Lelack's Nail Art Sunday. Today's theme is Summer.
I'm actually on a plane right now, on my way to Malta. I'm spending part of my Holiday there and will be back in Sweden in 8 days. It's going to be absolutely wonderful!

This was my Midsummer mani. Midsummer i a huge Holiday in Sweden. It's celebrated everywhere. I grew up in one of the towns that celebrate it the most, maybe it is the town that celebrates Midsummer the most. I think it is.
The nail art is quite simple. I started off with a white base on all nails. Then I added some studs and free handed some flowers. I usually don't free hand anything since I don't thik I'm very good at it. I do like how these fowers turned out, though. Hopefully, you like it too.

The polishes I've used are Butter LONDON Cottonbuds, A England Camelot, Color by Llarowe It's Shocking, Colors by Llarowe Sparkles are a Girls Best Friend, Colors by Llarowe Orange Crush, Colors by Llarowe Woodstock, Colors by Llarowe My Own Private Paradise and Colors by Llarowe Lucy, I'm Home!
I topped it all off with one coat of Pretty Serious Crytal Coat.

Isadora 729 Marzipan

Hello! It's Karin's Green Wednesday today. Since i haven't joined in the fun for a long time I thouht it was time today. I'll show you Isadora 729 Marzipan.

Marzipan is a bright pastel green creme polish. Perfect for spring or whenever you feel like you need a pick me up. The colour makes me happy, though it looks a bit chalky. Just like most bright pastels tend to do. But it's green, it's bright, it's shiny. So really, what's not to like? The only problem I have with th colour is that it gives me a severe cas of Lobster Hands. My hands go bright red.  It isn't too big of a problem but it does distract from the pretty colour.

The formula was good. It's fairly easy to apply. I'm not a big fan of Isadora's enormous brush, it's just way too big for my nails. The polish covers in two thin coat, which is really good for this type of colour. It dries quickly and very shiny.
What you see in the pictures are two coats of Isadora 729 Marzipan and one coat of Seche Vite.

Butter LONDON Jasper

When I was in London the change from icy cold Swedish winter to warm spring weather made my naisl chip like crazy. That has never happened before. My nails chipped, and chipped and suddenly they were paper thin so I had to chop them off. Now I'll have to live with nubbins for a while. I like them so it doesn't really bother me, it's just that I really love my nails long.
So lets cher up by a pop of yellow. I'd like to show you Butter LONDON Jasper.

Jasper is a pastel buttercup yellow creme. It's cute, pretty and screams spring. I really like itt. But then again, I do have a soft spot for yellows. Jasper actually works with my skin tone. most yellows don't, but this one d and that I love even more than the polish itself. A yellow that works!

The formula is impeccable. Probably the easiest yellow creme ever to apply. It covered in two coats, was  totally streak free and dries super glossy.
What you see in the pictures are two coats of Jasper and one coat of Gisten & GlowHK Girl.

United in Pink: Arcane Lacquer An Amorous Disposition

Translation: As most of you know October is breast cancer month. This year, starting today, we in the Swedish blogsphere, and hopefuly many other countries (join in if you want to!), are having a Pink week to shed som light on breast cancer. The hosts are Helena and Pamsan, if you want to join in jut contact them to get more info.
My reason to join in? It's easy. We need to be aware of breast cancer, just as to any other life-taking disease. If I can bring some awerness to breast cancer by showing pink manicures, well then that's what I'm going to do. Beacuse cancer doesn't just affect the person who has it, it affects all loved ones.

So I'm going to start off this Pink Week by showing you Arcane Lacquer An Amorous Disposition.
An Amorous Disposition is a hot pink creme with black, pink and prismatic glitter and some holo dust. the prismatic glitter and the holo won't show though because there was no sun when I took thses photos. It's still very beautiful! Probably one of the most beautiful pinks I own. Though I don't own particularly many pink polishes. Pink polishes are  probably the ones I own the least of. but that makes this week so much more fun!
The formula is good! Like butter! It's very easy to apply. The polish covers in two coats and dries quickly. the finish becomes smooth and quite shiny. to get that glass like finish to coat of top coat were still needed.
What you see in the pictures are two coats of Arcane Lacquer An Amorous Disposition and two coats of Poshé.

Essie Avenue Maintain

Translation: I've been a bit abscent in the swedish blog community. Mostly because I'm busy with work. But i try to hang in there and throw out a post when I can, as today.
Today I can show you Essie Avenue Maintain  from the Madison Ave Hue Spring 2013 Collection. Avenue Maintain is a french blue creme. The shine and the colour itself is beautiful. I'm ridiculously fond of  this kind of blue. The pictures are taken in sunlight.
The formula is good. It's not too thin or too thick. It covers in two coats, dries quickly and the finish is very shiny. What you see n my pictures are two coats of Avenue Maintain and one coat of Poshé

Orly Boho Bonnet

Förra veckan visade ju jag Glitter in the Air och då fick Boho Bonnet agera bas.

Translation: It's Linda's Blue Monday today and I'm showing you Orly Boho Bonnet. Last week I showed you Glitter in the Air and Boho Bonnet was the base. A very pretty combination, don't you think?
Boho Bonnet is a light blue crelly with a few drops of gray in it. It's very pretty. Elegante. It's not a unique colour, but that doesn't really matter. I feel so pretty in these types of blue. That the polish is super shiny is just a bonus.
The formula was very thin and runny. A few drops of polish actally fell from the brush even though i wiped it against the bottle. So you have to be really careful so that the polish won't run and stain your cuticles. That made the application a bit tricky, but other than that there wer no problems. Boho Bonnet dries quickly and shiny. It's a bit sheer but three coats gave full coverage.
